About The Small Firm Stack
Who publishes The Small Firm Stack, how we check facts, how sponsors are labeled, and why we never review ourselves.
Last checked
The Small Firm Stack is a plain-English guide to AI tools for small law firms. We cover AI receptionists, intake tools, case management software with AI, legal research and drafting AI, and call tracking. For every tool, we show what it costs, what it does with your clients' information, and what is in the fine print.
Who publishes this site
Published by the team at SaveYa Tech.
SaveYa Tech builds phone and intake systems for law firms. That means we have a conflict of interest when we write about receptionists, intake, and phone tools. Here is how we handle it:
- We never list, rank, or review SaveYa Tech. You will not find SaveYa in any listing, comparison, or "best of" page.
- The only link to SaveYa Tech is the "Built by SaveYa Tech" credit in the site footer. No listing, guide, comparison, or newsletter issue links to it or mentions it.
- We hold every vendor to the same standard, including vendors who might compete with SaveYa.
How we check facts
- Vendor's own words first. Every factual claim comes from the vendor's own website, help center, trust center, or terms, or from a reputable news source.
- Every claim is linked and dated. Next to each fact, you will see the source link and the date we checked it, like "checked Oct 19, 2026."
- If we cannot confirm it, we say so. When a vendor does not publish something, we write "Not published" or "Ask vendor." We never guess.
- No invented numbers. We do not repeat user counts, ratings, or statistics we cannot trace to a source.
- Opinions are labeled. Anything that is our view is marked "Our take" or "our opinion."
- We recheck. Each page shows its last checked date. Prices and terms change often, so always confirm with the vendor before you buy.
Our checks are built around the questions in ABA Formal Opinion 512, which says lawyers should "read and understand the Terms of Use, privacy policy, and related contractual terms and policies of any GAI tool they use" or consult someone who has (ABA Formal Opinion 512, checked Oct 19, 2026). We try to be that someone.
How sponsors are labeled
- No vendor pays to be listed or reviewed. No vendor paid for any page on this site.
- No affiliate links. We do not earn money when you click or buy.
- Sponsored spots are labeled. If our newsletter or site ever carries a sponsor, it will be clearly marked "Sponsor," kept separate from our reviews, and the sponsor will have no say over what we write.
Corrections
If you are a vendor and something here is wrong or out of date, send us the page and a link to your public source. We fix confirmed errors and update the checked date. Contact: hello@thesmallfirmstack.com.
