Clio Grow with Grow AI review: AI intake agents inside Clio

What it does: Clio Grow is Clio's intake and client relationship tool. Grow AI adds AI agents that reply to new leads by web chat, email, and phone, collect their details, rate how well they fit your firm, flag possible conflicts, and follow up automatically (Clio help: Get Started with Grow AI, checked Oct 19, 2026). The voice agent is available only in the US (Clio help: Get Started with Grow AI, LawSites, checked Oct 19, 2026).

Who it fits: Firms already on Clio that miss leads after hours and want intake handled inside the same system as their cases (Clio pricing, checked Oct 19, 2026).

Price

• Clio Grow is included in the Elite plan, and is an add on for Core and Signature. Clio says to contact sales for the add on price (Clio pricing, checked Oct 19, 2026).
• Grow AI is billed per hired matter that Grow AI helped with (Clio help: Manage Your Grow AI Subscription, checked Oct 19, 2026).
• LawSites reported a price of $25 per converted lead, with the first three conversions free for current Grow customers (LawSites, Aug 20, 2026, checked Oct 19, 2026). Clio's own pricing page says "Pay per matter hired" but does not show the dollar amount (Clio pricing, checked Oct 19, 2026).

How billing works (Clio help: Manage Your Grow AI Subscription, checked Oct 19, 2026):

• A charge is created when a matter is marked Hired and Grow AI assisted with that lead.
• You can set a monthly hiring target. Grow AI pauses when you hit it. But Clio says plainly: "A hiring target is not a billing cap." Leads Grow AI already helped can still be hired and charged after the target.
• Clio may send a separate invoice whenever your unbilled Grow AI usage reaches a threshold Clio sets.
• Turning Grow AI off "does not cancel charges already accrued."

Strengths

Our take

This is our opinion, based on the sourced facts above. Pay per hire pricing is friendly to small firms, and keeping intake inside Clio removes a lot of wiring. Treat the hiring target as a soft goal, not a budget limit, because Clio says it is not a cap. Since this product is new, try it on one practice area first and watch the Activity tab each week.
